I thought there was going to be cotton in these and there isn’t haven’t used the product yet but I did spill some water on the bag and it beaded right off

I’ve been eyeing these for a while now. Ever since I saw an ad on Instagram of Uncle Mo explaining their combo bag system, I was hooked. I use a menstrual cup, so I don’t spend much on menstrual products, but I do have to buy a lot of liners, as you still end up leaking when the cup is full. I hated liners, they were always uncomfortable and flimsy, sometimes sticking to themselves, folding over, and overall, becoming a waste. I liked the idea of a reusable pad/liner; where I don’t have to worry about sticky adhesive or wasting my money over and over again to resupply. I was finally able to save up some money for a couple liners, pads, and the combo bag, and come this current period…I’ve never been more comfortable. You barely even feel the pad because it’s cloth! It feels like your underwear, in my opinion. No more full diaper feeling, it was just comfortable! I used the pads the last two days without the cup, and they’re also incredibly absorbent! I’ve never slept that good with a normal pad! I’m definitely going to be restocking soon! I absolutely love these products!

I was extremely hesitant to try anything reusable. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about wearing a reusable pad, washing it, and such. But I was really tired of spending money every month on something that is expensive and sticks to me uncomfortably. So I thought what the heck and got the trial bundle. Not that I was excited for my next period, but I was excited to try the new pad. And boy, was I happy. It was comfortable, it didn't smell bad, once positioned it didn't really move, the quality is great. Enough said, I went and bought a bunch more. I'm incredibly pleased with my purchase. Plus. Fun designs.

And to be perfectly honest, as a 20-some childless woman who may one day want to have kids, I'm already thinking about reusable diapers and literally everything else on the website.

I’ve been waiting for a few cycles before writing this so I can give an honest and thorough review of lil helpers reusable pads.

The short version is that these pads are flippin awesome and you will not regret making the switch! Don’t be like me and read reviews and question it for 6-12 months before committing. Just buy them now and thank yourself during your next period.

To start I feel I should give a cute little picture of a typical period in my body.
I have a VERY heavy flow, extremely painful cramps and an irregular cycle length. I could get a period in 4 weeks or it could be 4 months.. nobody knows…
When I say very heavy flow, what I mean is that on more than one occasion I have put on a size 5 over night pad(these are my daily drivers) and leaked through it, along with my pants on my way to the store 15 mins from my house to get more of aforementioned pads. Shes heavy. Couple that flow with cramps that are nearly debilitating for 2-3 days of my period.
Needless to say with this being my normal period style, I was extremely skeptical that any reusable pad would hold up to my menstrual tsunami.

After over thinking and second guessing for nearly a year I finally bit the bullet and placed my order(1 liner, 2 regular, 2 of the size up from that and 1 of the biggest baddest pads lil helper has to offer). My order arrived quickly and I was immediately impressed. The letter inside made me laugh and it gave me the warm and fuzzies to think strangers could be so kind and care so much about my bodily functions.
Now it was time to wait for my next period.

The day eventually arrived so I strapped on my first pad.
My first impression was “damn this thing is comfy”. It was immediately awesome not to feel like I was wearing a puffy garbage bag between my legs when I already felt like trash. The material felt nice against my skin and it sat in place easily. You do have to adjust it a bit once you pull up your underwear(very easy to do. I usually just have to reach in and tug the front/top of the pad upward to slide the whole pad forward). I actually like this because I hate nothing more than fighting with the sticky BS backing attached to your underwear when you don’t have your pad lined up perfectly.
These are super easy to use, comfortable and stay in place once you have them situated.
I do have to wash laundry once a day to keep up with my flow using the pads I have ordered thus far but it hasn’t been inconvenient to me since I have a couple kids and a husband and spend my whole life washing laundry anyway.
The rinsing out doesn’t phase me and I don’t find it weird at all. I just rinse them in the bathroom sink then toss in the washer to wait until I put in a full load. I let mine air dry but have thrown them in the dryer on low for a few minutes just to compare methods and both options work fine. I just personally like to lay them flat to air dry. My pads have been through 5 or 6 periods now and still look brand new after every wash. How this is possible, I have no clue but can only assume it is black magic.

Now for the interesting part. My first period with these pads came and I didn’t leak through any of the pads which was shocking to me. I thought to myself that it was maybe an out of the norm “lighter” period and wanted to wait a few more times before writing a review so I could give an honest account. That being said the flow was still flowing but it didn’t feel like it was quite as bad as normal.

I told my best gal friend (who works at a local clinic) about my reusable period goodies and my experience during the period just mentioned. She brought up hearing something about people experiencing lesser period “symptoms” when using reusable menstrual products. I considered all the nasty chemicals that are in the typical period products and thought it could make sense, though I didn’t consider it a real possibility.

Fast forward 5-6 periods using exclusively lil helper pads.
I have not leaked through a single pad ONCE. I haven’t used the big huge max since my first period after my order came. And you’ll never believe it but I have experienced nearly zero cramping.
I considered this a coincidence at first but now that I’ve had at least 5 pleasant periods in a row like I have, I feel it would be unjust not to believe switching to exclusively these reusable pads has improved my menstrual experience.

So go forth and bleed freely on these luxurious, life changing, easy to use pads. You won’t regret it.
