If you're new to cloth menstrual pads or considering making the switch, you may have a lot of questions. In this blog post, we'll answer some of the most common questions about Lil Helper Hyps Menstrual Pads to help you make an informed decision.
How do Lil Helper Hyps Menstrual Pads stay in place?
Lil Helper Hyps Menstrual Pads are designed with wings that snap around your underwear to ensure a secure fit. The wings have adjustable snaps, allowing you to customize the fit for maximum comfort and leak protection. Whether you're sitting, standing, or moving around, these pads will stay in place and keep you feeling confident throughout the day.
Some customers still find they may slide slightly forward or backward. Lots of folks have had great success by simply wearing their pads ‘backwards’. This helps keep them in place! We also recommend cotton undies over slippery material like silk, and your comfiest leggings can help too. And we all know you can use some extra comfort the week you need your pads anyways!
How do you wash cloth menstrual pads?
Washing cloth menstrual pads is easy and convenient. First, when you change your cloth pad, rinse it under cold water to remove blood. Rinse until the water runs clear. Wash your pads your washing machine using a detergent similar to Tide Original and cold water cycle. We recommend washing your cloth pads in a mesh laundry bag so that they don’t get lost in your agitator.
Cloth pads can be washed with either your cloth diaper or regular laundry if rinsed properly. Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach as they can reduce absorbency and damage the fabric. Finally, hang dry or tumble dry on low heat.
What are Hyps Menstrual Pads made of?
Lil Helper Hyps Menstrual Pads are made with high-quality materials that are safe for both your body and the environment. The top layer is made of wicking bamboo jersey, the inside is 2 layers of viscose from bamboo, which provide excellent absorbency without adding bulk. The bottom layer is waterproof PUL (polyurethane laminate) that prevents leaks from reaching your underwear.
What do I do with soiled cloth pads?
After removing a soiled cloth pad, rinse it under cold water to remove any excess blood. If you're on the go, you can fold the pad and secure it with the snaps. Use a wet bag to store it until you get home or are ready to do laundry. Once you're ready to wash, follow the steps mentioned earlier for washing cloth menstrual pads.
Can I use cloth pads for incontinence?
Yes! Cloth pads are not limited to menstruation; they can also be used for light bladder leaks or incontinence. Lil Helper Hyps Menstrual Pads provide excellent absorbency and leak protection, making them a great option for managing urinary incontinence. Simply wear them as you would during your period and change as needed.
